Windows 8 virtualbox - Windows 8

hi guys,

I have got the Windows 8 Developer Build, and tired to install in on Vmware. But I was told VMware does not support Windows 8 yet, and Virtualbox works. Then I got one online and it works fine for me.

Then how do I successfully installed windows 8, pls look at the following screenshots attached and descriptions.

If you came across some problem of your Windows 8 Virtualbox, first, you can check your driver for it.

From the VirtualBox's menu, go to Devices → Shared Folders... to add/remove the folders of the host operating system that you would like to share with the guest operating system (Windows XP, in this example). When done click Ok.

I have downloaded the Windows 8 developer Preview edition this morning. I have installed it successfully on the host machine, but failed in vmware. So you can not install it with virtual box or vmware.

VirtualBox can install Windows 8 Developer Preview, and I have installed it successfully. By the way, i used the latest version of VirtualBox.

seems vmware is not available neither.

All the screenshots above are the installation steps for Windows 8 on Virtualbox.

Notes: In order to avoid the situation occured in the last picture, 1. You have to check your CPU, 64 bit or 32 bit, because it can only support its corresponding preocessor; 2. Ensure enough disk space; 3. Enable the Virtualization in BIOS.

After all the settings above, you just have to follow the install wizard for Windows 8.

There are two ways to look at this, but neither would work:Virtual machine. The virtual machine must virtualize the hardware configuration of the computer that you pulled the hard drive from. You dont have that. Native machine. The drivers installed on the hard drive for the old computer support the hardware configuration of the old computer. You need Windows drivers for your Macs hardware configuration. Those are available as a part of the Boot Camp installer on your System Restore disc.

You have pointed out the real solutions for Windows 8 virtualbox. I only used that on my SAMSUNG machine.
