    Lou,

1st of all, sorry, I am only replying to you, now. I had thought someone else might have before me, but, alas... Anyway...

I do find it surprising that you find no Enable/Disable (setting) for virtualization in the BIOS.

Yes, you do & must select External to have the VMs connect to the Net. The device (then) shown should be the Net adapter of the Host machine, not "Unidentified Network".

That's basically it; all those other, additional, settings & changes to things you mention in your 3rd sentence should not come into play or be necessary.

    Open the Hyper-V Manager
    Click on Virtual Switch Manager
New Virtual Switch will be highlighted
Select/highlight External & hit the Create New Switch button
In the next/resultant window in the box should show the Host Machine Net adapter... use the scroll arrow to find it listed, if need be, & use that/it, not "Unidentified Network".

After everything is done, you may seem to lose connectivity, may even get messages regarding same, 'after making the changes'... reboot the Host machine.

    Cheers,
    Drew

    I got it working!

The issue seems to be the VLAN checkbox. I was thinking it needed to be checked, but if it is unclicked then all is well on both the client and host! Guess I'm not sure what it does, I'm just happy it is working.

    Thanks for your assistance!
    Lou

Great news, Lou! You're welcome. No, that box stays unchecked; sorry, I hadn't mentioned that. Silly me, only stated what to do & since that box is unchecked, by default, I never thought to say, "don't put a check in that box". Anyway, glad you have it sorted & working, now.

    Cheers,
    Drew
