Thanks a lot, nice tutorial, I have the same problem as you but I solved it with different ways. I reset Windows 8 password to blank with an all-in-one program, you can find this program by searching Windows Password Recovery Tool, it never requests password.

Now, let's get down to how to bypass the Windows 8 password screen?

Step 1. Boot your PC and enter your password.

Step 2. Press Win-X (by which I mean hold down the Windows key and then tap X).

Step 3. In the pop-up menu that appears, click Command Prompt (Admin).

Step 4. In the command prompt, type control userpasswords2, then press Enter. (If this sounds familiar, it's because the same command works in earlier versions of Windows.)

Step 5. In the User Accounts dialog that appears, uncheck the box marked Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.

Step 6. Click OK, then confirm the automatic sign-in option by entering your password (twice).

    Step 7. Reboot.

That' it! Really very easy, hah? If you are interested in it and want to bypass the Windows 8 password screen, just following the above steps and accomplish it easily.
The other command line we have used for years to bring up this dialogue window is or has been (still is) netplwiz
. Does exactly the same as control userpasswords2
but, it's a lot less to type, LOL. Try it... (netplwiz)

If one doesn't fall for MS's insistence on signing up for a Microsoft Account and password then there is no problem later in getting rid of it.

On every screen during Windows 8 (or 8.1) setup, where a password is called for, there is an OPT-OUT option at the bottom left corner of each window.

That's what I do, and I never need to worry about having to bypass or get rid of a password, because I never create one. Passwords on a secure home computer are totally Redundant.

The "Best Practice" is to have a P/W & then, for convenience sake, if you are sure to be the only one using the machine or you trust anyone you let use your machine (on your account rather than a Guest Acc't), tell the machine not to ask for the P/W.

What people forget or ignore is the MS Acc't and a P/W is not just only for security. It is, also, your personal 'passport' on any Win8 device... sign in w/ it & that device recognises you & your settings, etc, etc.

With a Local Acc't ( no MS Acc't ) you are just a John Doe. You, also, w/out an MS Acc't deny yourself the availability of certain services & opportunities. But, one can chose to not use a MS Acc't but, should, still, use a P/W and then, if you want, simply tell the machine not to ask for it.

The OS is more secure if it has a P/W. That is not debatable; it's a fact.

I agree. A very annoying fact.
Personally, I use pin for Win 8. It's a lot faster to use it when logging in. Of course you would need your MS acct password to create a pin but that's only one time.
