any help??? how to remove all viruses in my laptop?
Avast, welcome to the forum!
Have you done a Full scan with Windows Defender, your built in AV for Windows 8 CP? If so, & it's not clean, have you downloaded the latest free version of Malwarebytes & done a Full scan? Get it here.
Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.61 - FileHippo.com
Finally, there's a very potent online scanner, the ESET Online Scanner. Works best using IE, as you have more control over the scanning options.
ESET :: Get a FREE Online Virus Scan
This is a good starting point. That ESET Online Scanner is a really good one. BTW, just how many viruses do you have, if you know? I'd hate to think that a lot got by Windows Defender unchecked.

Hi catilley1092,
Thanks a lot for your suggestion and I will download Malwarebytes to have a scan.
'Avast',
Do you have another computer running another OS besides Win8?
OR
Is the Win8 in your laptop a virtual machine or a dual-boot?
Cheers,
Drew
To my peers... I'm just curious & sorta doing a casual survey as to how many are actually running nothing but, a beta OS. Reckon y'all had started to suspect that of me, already. Not sure the results will surprise us or not.
Drew, perhaps a poll. I will explore that possibility.
Sure, Ted; (so) I (just) created 1.
Cheers,
Drew
Hi Drew, Win 8 Customer Preview is the only operating system on my only pc.
Avast, I hope that you created a backup of the install that you had prior to installing Windows 8 CP, or have recovery media, such as a recovery disk set, to re-install your prior OS with.
Because come June, Windows 8 RP will be out, & will require a clean install. I suppose one can do whatever he/she wishes, it's their computer & choice, & I do stand up & uphold that position. Even to install & use Linux, as their primary or secondary OS, I use the latest Ubuntu myself & really like it.
But for some things, a stable OS is needed, like for school/work/business (including making purchases). But if the only things the computer user is doing is general web browsing, forum participation, then a beta OS is OK.
The items that I linked in my first post of this thread should get rid of most viruses, if not, a reset is going to be needed. This will re-format & re-install your OS from scratch, it's possible that the install disk may be needed. There are more options, but it would be far less time consuming to just reset the OS, if Windows Defender, MBAM or the ESET Online Scanner cannot clean these viruses.
Being that Windows 8 RP is around the corner, normally I'd suggest to wait, but being that the OP's only install is Windows 8 CP, & has viruses, this issue has to be dealt with ASAP, not June, not next week, today, as in right now. It's the only responsible thing to do, is do whatever it takes to remove these threats. There is NO debate on this issue, an infected computer can infect thousands more.
Avast, if you need assistance, please post back, we'll be glad to instruct you, if needed, as to what to do. This is a serious issue that cannot be ignored or put off, for the safety of everyone.

And, 'Avast', where does that leave you when the BETA expires????
