Hi folks, as a matter of interest, has any1 used the above to close their machine down???
I have been using it since the latter part of last year and it was working very well indeed, then all of a sudden it stopped with error {avformat-53.dll} is missing.
All in all a good little program all the time it was working. Any thoughts on this peculiar prob folks?

Why would you use a 3rd party app/program to shut down your PC that it can do natively with the shutdown tab/button? I've never heard of it. Is this what you're talking about, getting your start menu back.

If that's the case, I would only use the well known apps/programs for that, like Classic Shell or Start8. Doing a quick google search for Pokki, there seems but a bit of install and uninstall troubles associated with that software.

Like, Forever, we've needed nothing extra to shut down a Winders PC.
That goes all the way back to Win-98.

Windows has always contained a Shutdown.exe program.

Just make a shortcut to that program and put the shortcut on your Desktop
and you have the most perfect Shutdown you can imagine.

Here's that shortcut for Windows 8 (all versions)

%windir%\System32\shutdown.exe /s /t 0

Just COPY and PASTE that line into a new desktop shortcut, and you're done.
NO special Shutdown program required.

Agreed, such stuff is totally unneeded. Aside from what 'TM' has mentioned, just simply > Charms and Settings OR hit Alt+F4

Yes, KISS & use what the OS natively already provides.

Not to mention how rare any need or reason to shut down is, anyway.

Hi Guys, well, i deleted it but i have another small prob with it as follows, Quote, The procedure entry point avcodec_get_name could not be located in the dynamic library
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\avformat-53.dll

Some times just uninstalling doesn't quite get rid of all the software. Try running Revo-Uninstaller and run the full or complete uninstall. It will take a lot longer, so be patient.
