Default A much better menu found!

Hello all, first post here. it took me all of about 2 days to get annoyed with the win 8 menu. i don't know how it gets such good reviews and I don't know how anyone who doesn't have a gaming mouse, with programmable keys could actually put up with the jerkiness of it to be honest. I did a bit of hunting around, like using the winshell, and win8 menu together, but couldn't get it right. I found this one today, don't know if it's been mentioned before or not, but it's clearly much better. it has a nice interface, its quick, can be modified a lot, and doesn't look like you've went back to win 7. Have a look yourselves. its by ReviverSoft. sorry i can't link it here as im a newb.

Have you tried the free Classic Shell? That app you have there looks too heavy. But good to know you are enjoying it. Thanks for sharing.

Heavy? Would you believe Morbidly Obese?

With almost a hundred options, The Classic Shell can make windows do almost anything you'd like, but.....
for the old timers that have been running Windows XP for well over a decade and can't stand the new look of windows (8 or 8.1) [like me] The Classic Shell is a real life saver.

I set up Windows 8 or now 8.1 for my old customers with The Classic Shell and I let them choose the type of start menu that looks best to them. That would be classic (XP look) or the Win-7 look.
When I'm done tweaking, I give them a desktop that looks so much like their old XP PC that they can't believe it.

This is my 8.1 desktop screen, while I'm playing an old 16 bit game that I bought on a floppy disk in 1990.
Windows 8.1 is the first OS since XP that has good 16 bit compatibility.

I even re-activate Windows Mail for them. I call it Outlook Express 6 on Steroids. Then I import their old address book for them and set it up so it looks just like their address book on XP.

If they love to play Solitaire, but hate the new look, I can give them the Classic Solitaire, from XP.

Windows 8 or 8.1 does not have to be the end of the world for old PC users, if it's properly set up. It can give them a whole new lease on their PC Life.

    Cheers Mates!
