Default Sound Distortion in Windows 8 #1

    Hello guys,

My computer is running with Windows 8 operating system. All things are OK. But recently, the sound in the laptop often shocks me from time to time. The sound during watch movies becomes distorted. For example, voice of a man sounds like a female's. As a computer novice, I do not know what's the matter.

    Pls do me a favor!

    Any help will be appreciated!

Default Re: Sound Distortion in Windows 8 #2

I had the problem of audio distortion, clipping and compression after I installed Windows 8. Nothing worked although I properly updated all audio related drives until I stumbled upon new settings interface in Windows 8 which I did not suspect.

    Hope below suggestions might helps.

Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Playback tab.
Right click on a playback device, and choose Configure Speakers.
