Hi all,

I had windows 8 release preview installed on my computer. But the sound card is not being detected. I have external usb soundcard and even built in one on the motherboard. Windows 8 won't detect. I tried installing drivers for usb device but the software says no device detected. Also videos are not playing or are very slow.

Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.

That's just normal and expected behavior, as long as we're still in BETA TEST mode.
MS tried to give us a workable driver store, but they couldn't cover every device in use today.

On XP, my on-board sound card won't play, so I installed a Sound Blaster Live Gold sound card and it works, with some downloaded drivers.

On W7, it found and is using my on-board AC97 sound.
On W8, it also uses the on-board sound, but ignores my Sound Blaster Card.

So I have two sets of speakers plugged into my PC...one to the motherboard audio output jack for win 7 and 8 and one plugged into my Sound Blaster card for use with XP.

Is it the perfect setup? OH heck no! But hey.....it works for me! Eh?

If you're going to be a Beta Tester, you need to understand the limitations of Beta Test versions of any software.
And, if you find a problem, you should be reporting it back to Microsoft, not just posting it here.
