I was running windows 8 CP. Sky Drive Desktop App worked fine. Today I install windows 8 Release Preview. It appears to be broken now. If I restart, it shows the message "There was a problem connecting to SkyDrive Check your internet connection and then try again". Obviously the internet connection is fine, I can open websites. Once this dialog box is closed then the system tray app disappears.

I have tried reinstalling and it works fine until you restart the machine. How this issue happens?

I just installed the Skydrive Desktop app. It works fine for me. I sent some pics and documents to cloud. Will have to figure out how to tell other family members how to find them.

edit: just select share while in Skydrive and send email to those you wish to share with.

Hi Manny, welcome to this forum. Maybe you can try these steps as below:

Method:

Follow the steps and check the issue in clean boot mode.

a) Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard.

b) In the ‘Run’ window type ’MSCONFIG’ and click ‘Ok’.

c) On the General tab, click to select the option ‘Selective startup’, and then click to clear the option Load startup items check box.

d) On the ‘Services tab’, click to select the ‘Hide all Microsoft services’ check box, and then click Disable all.

e) Click OK, and then click Restart.

Note: After performing the troubleshooting steps in clean boot, follow these steps to return the computer to Normal startup mode.

a) Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard.

b) In the ‘Run’ windows type ’MSCONFIG’ and click ‘Ok’.

c) On the General tab, click the Normal Startup option, and then click OK.

d) When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.
