Hi All!

My colleague and I are writing the Start Menu replacer for Windows 8.

At the moment the application is Free, Open-source, and works with XP, Win 7 and 8.

What it can already do, what it will do, how does it look like, download etc. - Power8 Start Menu Replacement
I appreciate if you find the time and possibility to share your opinion on the application.

I'm very happy with the two versions of Classic Shell that I've already used on Windows 7 and Windows 8.
Both were 100% free! And both work beautifully. I'm not sure why I'd want anything else. Eh?

Looks just like another ad to me. But then, I could be wrong. I was ONCE. (the day in 1961, when I joined the Army)

If a guy doesn't know how to present a URL without 50 posts, he's not overly smart, to my thinking.

Our admin believes this should be presented as a possible alternative to Classic Shell. I neither endorse nor recommend Power8. I am a user of Classic Shell and do recommend it as a fine replacement to the Start Menu.

As such I have added a link to Power8. Users may make up their minds themselves.

As a side note, we do encourage app developers for Win 8. However if you wish to present a site in our Forum, per our rule #2 you must ask for and receive prior approval for this.

This time it's 3-way search, and better layout on non-Aero systems.
I suggest reading Feature Details page of Power8 wiki to get deeper understanding of Search feature.

P8 should update automatically, but if not - use Download section of Power8 site.

We've just released Power8 RC1! *hooray*
Get it -> Power 8 for Win 8

Pin/Unpin functions, better user interaction when searching, better search results (want to get "Plants Vs Zombies" by typing "pvz"? ), first translations (Russian and Swedish languages), and a big load of fixes and enhancements.

If Classic Shell does not work in Win 8 Pro, will Power8 work? What is your prediction of this?

Yes it will. Maybe some small patch will be required or something, but it will.
