    Thanks for fixing it Bass!

There should be a register tab when you open the software.

Great! It can even recover files that you deleted years back!

How about, when your hard drive screamed and smoked and won't run anymore?
How good is that recovery software then???

NO piece of recovery software will help you then! Only the backup program, run from a CD or Flash drive, that you used to make a Backup Image File of your hard drive, that you stored to a separate hard drive.

I've done that, and I also run a batch file on my PC, that copies all 'new' data files to TWO external drives.
Since it only copies new files or files that have changed, the entire backup only takes a few seconds.
Such a batch file, can be run manually, from your Startup folder or from the Task Scheduler.

I hate adding more software to my already busy PC, to do something that I can do with what's already present in Windows.

    Cheers mates!

Accidents do happen TM. They happen. It happened to me. Like I said from my post above, I hope that nobody needs to use this software. It's never fun accidentally losing data. Nobody ever wished to lose data. But if it did happen, here's one of the solutions.
This is not for everybody. Definitely not for you TM. But not everyone has the same proactive habits like you do. You help people fix their computers. You may not need this for yourself but maybe for people who come to you for help.

This tool and many others like this are created for good reasons. Specially for average users.

Without any argument, I just wanted to explain, that there is NO software that you can install on your PC to prevent a hard drive crash, which effectively roaches all the data on the HD, including your recovery program.
    It's all Gone, Finis, Kaput!

Whole drive backups to a separate drive are my all time favorite disaster prevention/recovery technique.
I try to backup my C: drive every week, to a separate hard drive. I have the backup program on CD's and Flash drives. (multiple external media, for safety)
So if my HD goes up in a big ball of fire and smoke, I can quickly replace the drive, boot up with my Backup/Restore media and restore my latest Backup Image File. In less than 30 minutes I'm back in business as if nothing at all happened. If my full drive backup does not restore my very latest Data Files, I can quickly restore them from my Data Backup drives. No fault, No foul!

But for just protecting your data files, back them up daily or often to a flash drive or external HD. Flash drives have gotten so CHEAP, that everybody can afford at least one.
Then if any data file gets corrupted or deleted, it can be easily and quickly restored from the backup.
You don't need to install any extra software to be 100% safe.

In the past 20 years, I've never had to deal with lost or deleted data files, although I've had to replace many crashed hard drives, where everything was lost. I tell my customers over and over again, "Back up your data files!" but only about one out of ten ever do it.

Every hard drive will CRASH, eventually. It's not a matter of "IF" but a matter or "When".

I didn't mention it but I was actually in the process of backing up a new set of data when I lost a partition that contains the data. I normally move and backup my latest files to a separate drive and burn the old ones on DVD and Bluray discs (mostly photos) because I still don't trust my backup drives. And now I have a raid setup and I don't have to worry too much but I still do burn the photos that matter to me.

In terms of backing up, we are all on the same page. But when something goes wrong, there are alternative solutions.
