Win 8 CP and Win 8 RP when it is released next week are beta OS's. They are for testing purposes only. You should not be relying on these time limited beta OS's for work. Win 8 CP will deactivate shortly after Win 8 RP is released. Win 8 RP will require a clean install.

I haven't had any issues with installing IE or non-IE Flash on Windows 8 CP, nor Java, Silverlight or Adobe Air (all of which are plugins).

Here's the latest versions of Flash, as well as Adobe Air & Reader.

Adobe Flash, comes in Four versions..... 32 bit and 64 bit, also
in IE and NON-IE versions. That gives you one chance to get it right and three chances to get it WRONG. Murphy's Law says you'll probably get it wrong. lol

Are you trying to install the correct one for your PC, Browser and OS?

Get the right version and it should install without any problem. It always has for me!
    Close your browser first, though.

Just a suggestion, based on personal experience.

    Cheers Mates!

IE 10 and Chrome 19 both have Flash built into the browsers now. You do not need to install Flash in either of these browsers.

That's correct Ted, both of those does have Flash. However, Firefox users needs to manually install Flash, if not, at some point, sooner rather than later, the user will be prompted to.

In this case, it would be the non-IE, 32 bit version. For those who runs Aurora, Mozilla's 64 bit browser, the non-IE 64 bit Flash is needed.

It is not necessary to install Flash in the RP. 1 change from CP to RP is Flash is (now) native to IE10

It's necessary if one chooses to run Firefox or Opera, don't know about Safari.

But if one is going to run IE (or Chrome), Flash isn't needed. And that's good. Because, the less plugins, the better. Something else not needed that's a security risk anyway. I'm all for that.

Now, if we can also do away with the JRE, we'll really be getting somewhere. It can be more of a security breach than Flash is, especially if not properly updated, which means removing the old before installing the new.

To get back to the original post. I did have a problem with both Flash and Foxit Reader on FF 13. I followed this procedure and was able to successfully intall Flash on FF 13. Foxit Reader was then also working???

note: The 3 posts not concerning Adobe Flash were moved to it's own thread. It will get more exposure in a new thread with an appropriate title for the problem.
