Hi all,

Runing windows 8 consumer preview from March. Never have this problem. Will not go to desktop when I click "show the desktop". Have to minimize all windows to go to desktop.

Tried to click other options like Task Manager, all work.



Any idea?

Yes, I have an idea. Please, toss your CP installation & replace it w/ the RP... then, we'll talk. OK? Cool.

Move your cursor to the bottom right corner. The show desktop is still there just where it was in Win 7.

The better alternative however is to Clean Install Win 8 RP as Drew mentioned. Win 8 RP fixes many of the problems of Win 8 CP. It may also fix your problem.

This is what mine looks like using the cursor in the right lower corner.

I agree. Win 8 RP is the newest beta. It contains many improvements and fixes. Plus Clean Installing Win 8 RP will give you experience to change to Win 8 when it is released. Shortly thereafter, Win 8 CP and Win 8 RP will deactivate and you will be left with nothing. Figure it out now while you have the time.

Er...I have used windows 8 CP for 4 monthes, and I get used to it. Maybe I will get off it when I meet a big issue and I must get off it. Thank for your kind suggestion.

At some point in time Win 8 CP will automatically deactivate and will no longer work at all. You might want to consider a change sooner rather than later. Otherwise you might loose your OS completely.

All Win 8 betas (DP, CP and RP) are time limited and WILL deactivate automatically!

Waiting for "a big issue" does not come into play here.
