Exclamation Service host and Client server processes high CPU usage

Ever since the latest update for windows 8 (perhaps a little later) my fan would not stop running on full blast -- the reason is due to the attached picture. For some reason that group of processes is taking an absurd amount of CPU. It starts a few seconds after the computer starts up, and even with no programs open it uses a high amount of CPU.

    Toubleshooting procedures already taken -
Turned it off and on again
ran a virus scan with windows defender
tried ending the processes - BSOD

    CPU specs
    2gb ram
    Dual core C2D Pentium 1.8ghz
    Latest windows 8 CP build
Laptop model is unknown - mfg. prototype (also a reason for lack of fan control?)
    Throttled CPU, still ~100% usage

If any other information is needed, please ask

    Thanks!

    Hi Halo,

Most CPU Usage issues can be traced back to an overload of processes running, and too little resources to handle all of them. Now you've find out which processes are clogging up your computer's performance, try to download a cleaning and optimizing program on your computer to see if it helps.

The thing is, the entirety of the CPU usage is coming from those three processes in the picture. Before it started occurring, the CPU would idle at ~5% usage. Now it idles at 68%.

I would try a system restore to before the last updates for now. In early June the next beta is due to be released. This next beta will require a clean install. Shortly thereafter the Win 8 CP will deactivate anyway.

The system restore should return you to a point before the problem started:

Control Panel, Recovery, Advanced Tools, Open System Restore

Completely forgot about system restore. Tried it and the problem seems to be fixed. I just hope updating again won't screw it up.

    Thanks for the help.

When the Win 8 RP is released it will require a Clean Install. There is not an Update Route. Clean Install only.
