You definitely need to reinstall the OS using a Custom (Clean) install. Your basic installation is corrupt. I would also suggest downloading the ISO file again and slow burning it to a DVD to use for the re-install.
If you would like to have a try before re-install, see this blog below if it works.
Blank Screen after Hibernate/Sleep?
If this does not help, you need to do a re-install.
I had not thought of the page file size. This referenced article is somewhat old from Win XP, but it is possible. Win 8 RP has much better memory management, but who knows with the inner working of Win 8 RP.
As far back as I care to remember, both Hibernate and Sleep have been problematical or 'iffy'. That a nice way of saying "Crappy".
Over the years, millions of PC's have gone to Sleep and never woke up again.
As for Hibernate....it creates that HUGE "Hiberfil.sys" file in your root directory that takes up gigabytes of space.
Get rid of that monster by just disabling Hibernate.
In short, Sleep and Hibernate are two things that I will not allow on any PC of mine, even my laptop and Netbook.
If you're not going to use your computer for an extended period....Shut It Off!

Backup! Backup! Backup! Ghost rocks!
OK, i spent an hour on line with Microsoft support today trouble shooting this problem. He admitted that it's a common complaint. The solution was simple. Go into Control Panel, Hardware, Power Options, System Settings. Click on "choose what the power button does" and UNCHECK "Turn on Fast Startup"...yes turn it off, even though it says "recommended". I was skeptical, but now my laptop wakes up properly after going to sleep. Hope this helps someone.

My Fast Startup works great, and my sleep functions works great as well. Fast Startup is not necessary at all, but it does allow the PC to start faster from cold boot. Does not help at all with restart.
Sorry yours does not work.
12 Things You Must Do When Running a Solid State Drive in Windows 7
These things will help a lot when running a SSD, I implemented most of them (except #9) & it performs much better. Also left a small pagefile (1280MB) on each OS. It's inadvisable to run a single drive setup w/o a pagefile.
