Hi guys,

Fresh install of windows 8 beta on my new Dell laptop one week ago and when i went to start getting MS updates there was limited or no connectivity.

I have tried releasing/renewing the ip address but there is no any help, the same result with TCP/IP stack resetting.

can anyone come up other advices for this win 8 case?

any help in this would be highly appreciated.

i faced the same problem the moment i switched to windows 8 ... ie i was never able to go online while on windows 8 ... i use a DLINK Router and a adsl connection with a wired connection to PC... now just to check i switched back to XP and guess what even xp now was showing Limited Connectivity. note that the router is fine coz its working all right with my other system... now after quite a lot of ip release renew.... dhcp client restart and bla bla bla.... i found in properties of my NIC that the MAC/Physical address was gone.... luckily i had a copy of TMAC on my system... ran that and generated a new MAC for the NIC or whatever... and guess what the LAN got a IP right away and the status changed to connected and is now working fine... Hope it helps ... Lemme know....

Has your Wifi been saying "Limited" and you can't load any web pages? Here's the answer!

[1] Right-click your Wifi icon at the bottom-right corner of your screen> Select "Open Network and Sharing center"

[2] Then on the Left sidebar under Control panel, choose "Change adapter settings"

[3] You will now see a list of your devices. Disable all of the unused connections by right-clicking it and pressing disable.

[4] In my case, since I have a Belkin Wireless adapter, I disabled all The others like "Wifi 2" and "Wired Ethernet connection".

[5] As soon as it is all disabled, test your internet. If it works, please tell me! If problems presist, tell me also!

NOTE: You should notice now when you click your Wifi icon, You will not see "Network Limited(picture)" anymore! Hope this helps!
