Efficient way prevent from hacking? - Windows 8

Hello guys,

does anyone know how can an individual avoid his system from getting Hacked? I am using windows 8 beta 64 bit and have experienced the hacking problem several times. Apart from abstain from unknown mail, don't click links from anominous user's mail, dont share personal details on websites which are not safe, by not sharing personal details.

any other ways?
