    Hi all,

I cant setup a connection in my windows 8. My 3G Card is recognized in devicemanager as "HP hs2340 HSPA+ Mobile Broadband Module USB Device". However i cannot setup a connection. When i doanload the HP connection manager it keeps saying "initializing device" when i enable the device .

    Any help would be appreciated!

I encountered the same problem on my EliteBook 2760p. HP Driver is causing "initializing device" problem. Please upgrade your drivers to the latest.

    Hope this might helps.

One thing to keep in mind here, not all devices, including cellular Broadband devices. Contact your provider for any latest updates. I once had a Cricket Broadband wireless modem, an update had to be applied for Windows 7 usage.

The same is probably going to apply to Windows 8 RP/Retail. My only suggestion is what I stated above, first call your provider. Note that some users may need a new broadband card.

Hey, check this out, it may be the answer for both of you.

Sorry a lot of printers are facing the same issue, those companies hasn’t create the drivers for Windows 8 you have to wait until those companies develop the driver with compatibility for Windows 8.

I also expect some printers/other hardware not to be supported, especially those made by HP. Seems that their attitude is for their customers to buy a new computer or printer with every OS release. Not me!! They got me once with this desktop, it's the last dollar that they'll get out of mine. HP doesn't even provide updated Windows 7 drivers, the user must hunt their own latest ones. How can one expect them to support Win 8? Mine does work, but no thanks to HP, MS provided the Win 8 CP & RP drivers for it to work through Windows/MS update.

Fortunately, my Kodak ESP 3200 Series AIO worked on Day 1 of Win 8 CP's release, & still does. I have an even older one, a Dell 720 Photo Printer made for XP/2000, that installed with Vista software, but I only installed it for kicks, to add it to the database (or take it away) of known working ones. The inks are too costly for me to use it, refurb ink is all that's available.

Some hardware companies are already preparing for Windows 8, as well as software ones (there's now many apps that's for Win 8, as well as earlier versions). Many of these companies are in high gear on this.

But not all are. I expect that some 3G users will either have to buy a new device, or get their current one updated for Win 8 usage.
