I've been trying this for 4 days, re-installing vlc 4 times and trying to watch 4 things (2 dvds, 1 .avi and 1 .mp4). The problem is everytime i try to watch something, the sound works but not the video; only a pink or black screen is displayed. please help!

What version number of VLC are you using? 2.0.3 worked for me.

I'm only trying to use vlc becuase my code for media centre still hasne't arrived...AFTER 9 DAYS

It's been 3 days since I submitted my request a WMC COA for my latest install, & haven't heard anything, except for when I signed up, it said to wait 72 hours. The first one took only 20.

I'm starting to get wound up over this, a email of a delay would be appreciated. Just as with the Backup DVD set that took 3 & a half weeks to arrive.

BTW, VLC Media Player ships in two versions, 32 & 64 bit. Be sure to get the right one for your installed OS. They're at the top of this list.

I forgot about this Free jewel that I found today here on the Forum, someone else posted it in response to a Blu-Ray player. This app ships with a lot of codecs, so you should be able to watch whatever media that you have. Even plays 1080p HD videos.

DAPlayer - Free HD Bluray Video Multimedia Player Software

This isn't a "no name" outfit, there's been promo offerings of their other software posted here, notably WinX DVD Ripper Platinum.

Hope that this one will work for you, it may be better than VLC. If so, spread the word.
