Default Can Real Player Burn DVD Video on Windows 8?

I have installed Windows 8 and reinstall my Real Player, the Real Player works well on my new OS Windows 8. However, it cannt help me burn video to DVD like it did on Windows 7. I wonder know is this the problem related to Windows 8 or this problem is just caused by Real Player itself?

Looking forward to your positive reply.

First, get rid of Real Player. It is a security risk and large resource hog.

Try VLC or add Media Center back into Win 8 for DVD use. There is also a thread about a free DVD ripper you can try.

Every computer that I ran across with Real Player had real problems. A quick scan with MBAM would begin to reveal them.

I forget what it came bundled with, but my mother-in-law had it on her computer, that I now have, every week I would scan her computer & all sorts of malware would be found & cleaned.

Early this year, she bought a notebook, install Real Player on it, in spite of my warnings NOT to do so, & the same thing happened. The app (for lack of words that I can't publicly mention) is a piece of garbage. Seems that any decent security would block the install of the app, it's that bad.

Try the advice by Medico in the post above, I've used VLC with no problems.

Do I have to get rid of Real Player? However, I will follow your instructions to get VLC or Media Center a try.
Anyway, thanks for your kind answer, Medico.

Medico, should we have to uninstall Real Player? In my opinion, Real PLayer is a trusted brand in video player.
And, the DVD ripper you shared here cant help users to burn video to DVD, it can just help us rip or convert DVD to video.
