windows 8 installation black screen
Hello,
I recently tried to install Windows 8 on my new Lenovo Desktop touch screen, and it keeps installing incorrectly. It does the install, reboots, then has the fish, gets to 100%, says its updating registry, then just goes to a completely black screen, and sits. I then need to power down, and turn it back on, at which point it says it installed incorrectly, and is restoring previous version.
Is there anyway I can get this to install? Thank you!

Elliote,
Did you install Win8 via "Upgrade" OR "Custom"? How did the install DVD get made & where did the Win8 .iso originate? Once you have answered these questions, I will answer the one you had asked.
Cheers,
Drew

Re: windows 8 installation black screen
I would like to do a clear installation. It always shows the issue as I said in thread, so I have to give up windows 8. I am back to windows 7 now. If windows 8 RP is good, I will have a try. If it is still unstable, I prefer staying on windows 7. Thank you, Drew.

You're welcome, Elliote. Clean install is the only thing to do or way to go about it. I, still, wish you'd answer my other questions... then, I could, maybe, say something to safeguard you having a good experience trying the RP.
The .iso must be downloaded from Microsoft's 'official' site. Use the image burn in your Windows7... that will do the burn @ the correct speed.
You should not expect any lack of stability w/ the RP. Certainly, I have found, even the CP to be rock solid.
Cheers,
Drew

Elliote,
When you do install Win 8 RP, do not wipe out Win 7. Either use a spare HD or set up a dual boot with a second partition (Approx. 50 GB should work fine) In this way, you can keep Win 7 intact, and still test Win 8 RP.
It's never a good idea to replace a licensed, released OS with a beta (for testing) OS like Win 8 RP.
Win 8 will not be released until sometime in October. At this time you would have to BUY it.
