I am doing a clean installation of windows 8 on my Dell n5110. However, whenever I go to the installation screen when Win8 installs drivers, the screen goes black and won't turn back on.

Is there a fix?

It seems the default graphics drivers are most likely incompatible with your setup. Did your installation finish? If so perhaps you could boot to safe mode and try to load new drivers from there.

If not you probably should try a complete reinstallation using the Custom (Clean) install option. I would also download the ISO file again and burn it to a new DVD then use this DVD to Custom install Win 8 RP.

If this is not successful you might have to go back to your original OS.

Your setup may not be compatible. What are the specs and manufacturer model of your PC?
