Default startup repair loop on windows 8

I got an problem. My laptop goes to startup repair suddendly. I am not sure if I press any wrong key. I try to restart latop and its ok. But it goes into startup repair again. It looks I did not do anything wrong. I would like to try the recovery solution of windows 7. But I am afraid that it will damage the laptop due to the different systems.

If anyone could help I would really appreciate it. Many many thanks!

More info is needed. Is this a dual boot scenario with Win 7?

I believe the Win 8 installation is corrupt and the best plan would be to reinstall Win 8 from the start. It might even be best to download the iso file and burn it to DVD again. I heard of, and experienced first hand, bad downloaded iso files. I had to do this, and ended up with a rock solid installation that I am using 100 % of the time. I almost never boot to my Win 7 OS right now. I want to really give this puppy a try out.

The Win 7 recovery solutions pre-suppose a good Image to start with. (by the way if this is a dual boot scenario, you did create an Image of your Win 7 partition before starting to play with Win 8 CP didn't you ?????)

I have the same problem, infinite loop of unable to repair. I did not dual boot and the computer was blank. I can't f8 and f4 works. What should I do? it sais that the file autochk is not found, i dont know if that is relevant or not

I would start over. Download the iso file, burn the file to DVD, boot to the DVD and do a Custom Install. Then reinstall everything. This will give you a pristine installation. I would then start creating Images for future restorations when problems occur.
