Help
Hi all. I need help, and fast!.
I`ve just installed windows 8 , a fresh copy from a dvd. I have 2 partitions on my pc . C(20 gb) and D(110 gb). Before windows 8 i had windows xp sp3 on my C partion (20 gb) and at the moment of windows 8 installation , when i was asked to chose where to install , i chose to delete the C partition (where my windows xp sp3 was located) and keep the D partion( which contains photos and important stuff) . I made an other C partion and installed the windows 8 there and RESAYING that i kept my D partion untouched. After the installation of windows 8 , i went in my comptuter and saw just 1 partition C. The D was missing . How can i get it back.
And another thing is that if i look in my C partition propieties i see it has only 20 gb space(as it should have), but where is my D????

Re: Help
First, 20 Gb is not nearly enough for the C Drive with Win 8 RP. I would reinstall Win XP. I suspect the D Drive is invisible because you don't have a fully operational OS as the space is not large enough for Win 8 RP. I would then use a good Partitioning app such as Partition Wizard to downsize the D Drive to give a little more room to the C Drive (say another 20 Gb at least). When you click apply the PC will reboot and move the data on the D Drive to the smaller partition and leave unallocated space at the front of the D Drive. (You must downsize the D Drive from the front. In Partition Wizard, grab the left hand side and drag it to the right)
Then go through the resize again and make the C Drive bigger by dragging the right border across the unallocated space so it is included in the C Drive. Then you should be able to install Win 8 RP.
Be advised however that we never recommend replacing a licensed OS with a beta OS. You might better acquire a second HD to install Win 8 RP for testing purposes.

My screen shot is just an example showing how to drag the edges of the selected partition to a different size.
