I recently installed the Windows 8 RP on my laptop. I found that the batteries weren't being detected, although they work fine when i turn off the AC source. I corrected it by going to the device manager and clicking 'scan for hardware changes' and it detected the battery drivers. But each time i reboot the system the same problem occurs again. Any idea how I can fix this?

That is a weird one. The only thing that I can think of, was the battery in place at the time that Win 8 RP was installed? I've never heard of this happening before now, & it's the only answer that I can come up with.

Mabye other members can chip in on this unique issue.

Yup it was. I found that if I boot without plugging it in, it detects the battery. But if i boot with a power source it still doesn't detect it.

Is this the original OEM battery, or a replacement battery? If it is an original OEM battery you might want to check with the manufacturer to see if they might have a fix. If it is a replacement battery check with the supplier. When I replaced my laptop battery with an aftermarket battery, it came with a CD to load new drivers (or something) to allow the laptop to recognize he battery.
