For what it's worth, I managed to get my Logitech Bluetooth adapter working under Windows 8. It was pairing fine but I couldn't play music through. My fix was to go into Devices, then right click the adapter > Properties > Hardware > Select Bluetooth AV > Properties > Driver Update > Browse My Computer > Let me pick > Bluetooth Stereo.

This allowed the adapter to connect, but still no sound. So went into Sound properties in control panel and changed the adapter to the default device. That sorted it. Hope this helps someone.

Problem solved. I had to download the Win8 Atheros BT drivers that have recently become available for my Acer 5951g from the Acer website. All sorted now.

Many developers are still working on Win 8 drivers. I would suspect over time many more will have these drivers available.

    Go into Youtube and search:
Windows 8 - Adding and Connecting Bluetooth Audio Devices

There's a video with this same name that explains it all. I even have a shortcut on my start screen to quickly access all my audio equipment, including those I have linked via bluetooth, and I can connect & Disconnect whenever I want, no problem.
