Default Windows 8 ATI CCC Problems

I have an ATI Radeon 5570, and recently installed the Win8 Preview. Typically, when wiping my computer, I am required to download a new version of Catalyst Control Center because the settings for the card include scaling and will not allow the screen to fit the monitor. I installed CCC and updated the card drivers on the computer, but am unable to get CCC to open. It says it cannot open and that there is no settings that can be configured with CCC.

This means I am stuck with a good portion of black around my screen. Why is CCC not working and can I get around this?

    Thanks

do you mean the Catalyst Control Center by CCC?

Please make sure you have the right driver for it, or reboot computer into the Safe Mode to check the problem.

Same exact problem with the ATI Catalyst Control Center. My card is ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT. As of 3/26/2012 there is nothing new at the AMD ATI web site.

I have been using the default drivers from Win 8 CP for my ATI Radeon Mobility 4650 without problems. I have not tried the ccc and do not miss it. The default drivers give my card very good functionality.

On my HD1300 pro I got the Vista 64 CCC package to work. Maybe I just got lucky.

To be clear, this is not a Driver issue. The ATI Catalyst Control Center is a application that allows control of the various driver features. Both Murph909 and myself need the ATI Catalyst Control Center to adjust the screen size and positioning of our CRT monitors. The CCC install appears to work ok. Examination of the Log shows that all details completed sucessfully. Upon rebooting there should be a ATI CCC icon in the Task Bar but it is not there. The ATI CCC and ATI Help programs are in the Start programs. The Help program works ok but the CCC just returns "there is no settings that can be configured with CCC". I have Un-installed and D/L and Installed the latest 12-2_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc.exe 3/7/2012 from support.amd.com us gpudownload windows Pages radeonaiw_vista64.aspx
From the Release notes: The latest version of the AMD Catalyst software suite is designed to support the following Microsoft Windows platforms:
    Windows 7 32-bit version
    Windows 7 64-bit version
    Windows Vista 32-bit version
    Windows Vista 64-bit version
    Windows XP Professional
    Windows XP Home Edition
    Windows XP Media Center Edition
    Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
So this is really the only CCC software available. The problem looks to me as if the CCC aplication can not Access its own configuration files. Most likely a W8 Permissions problem.

I found that version in the Previous Versions at AMD. During the install it needed .NET 3.5. As W8 comes with .NET 4.0 I did not think that would be the way to go, no telling what else may be broken by that. So for me the Nov 2011 version of CCC was not a fix.
