    Default Touchscreen not working on Gateway ZX4931-59n

    Hello,

    Could anyone tell me how can I enable touchscreen on my Windows 8 Pro?
    My display shows proper resolution however I can't use any touchscreen features. What drivers do I need to update?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Are you sure it's Win 8 Pro, not Win 8 RP? The Win 8 Pro has not been released for general sale yet.

    I have Win Pro 8 from MSDN as it was released on August 15th.

    What tablet/screen are you using? Can you go to the manufacturers web site to check for screen drivers?

    I went to Gateway support and driver download and tried all drivers. I was able to get the tuner card to work as well as the screen to come up with the right resolution; however, the touchscreen is still not working. I am not sure what screen driver do I need to use. As I mentioned I downloaded all the drivers from the site below but no luck.

    Any workarounds?

    There may be nothing available at this time. Many of these drivers will have to come from device manufacturers. I have also heard that some Win 7 tablets are not playing well with Win 8. That is one reason most of the OEM's are developing new tablets for Win 8. I am interested in the higher end tablets such as Surface Pro and comparable devices.

    I have the same issue, what is important to note is that it was working very well with all previous window 8 version (Dev preview and Release Preview).

    Could be a broken download or burn. The first thing I would do is download the ISO file once again from an approved site. Slow burn the ISO to a new DVD then custom install. During the custom install, choose drive options and format the partition ahead of the install. This will give the most pristine installation.

    Do not use Torrent sites or your friends DVD. Use the MSDN site or TechNet (I assume you have a paid subscription) if not MSDN has a 90 day Enterprise Evaluation edition you cab try.

    Hey, mspusta78. Did you connect the monitor to the USB port of your PC to enable touch? the video cable (HDMI, VGA, DVI) only provides video.

    The Gateway ZX4931-59n is a all in a one desktop. The problem is only since Windows 8 RTM, touch screen is working fine on previous version (Windows 8 Dev preview, Customer Preview, Release preview ). If I boot to Windows 7 or Ubuntu the Touch screen is working.
