Go to the graphics card web site (I listed the latest here) and get the latest drivers for your card.

The best graphics card is totally a personal preference. Also it often depends on what came with your PC. It seems many write positive comments about NVidia. I guess a lot would depend on your budget as well.

Is this same query somewhere else? I had answered it, was the 1st & only answer, @ the time... wonder where it is... weird.

Any modern graphics card will be compatible w/ Windows 8. NVidias are good & my recommendation. The card must be compatible w/ the M/B. beyond this there are various models from which to choose. They range in price from not much to a few hundred. I don't suggest the cheapest but, the high end depends on how acute ones needs & demands might be... serious gamers would want upper level cards. Generally something in the middle is quite suitable. Go to an independent computer store, have them show you 2 or 3 models, discuss them and then select.

You may try to clean the graphic card to see if it will be better. I had the same issue before and I fixes it by wiping off the dust. Too much dust might be a reason.
