Default Windows Store Tile Is Gone

I installed W8 Consumer Preview (32Bit) and after an update and reboot, the Store tile is completely gone and I don't know how to get it back. Is anyone else having this problem?

I tried searching and nothing about the store turns up. I did a full refresh and it still hasn't returned. I may try a clean install again and see if the problem reproduces.

Yep, maybe this is the final solution.

you don't need to get it back, just move your mouse to the right top corner of screen, and click "Search" and then choose to search "app store", you will get app store back.

You should check to see the permission on the start menu folder I have been finding that some how you loose perms to the directory Not sure if this is something to do with using an MS account or not yet but below is what I found worked and much faster then all these other fixes so I would check this first I just ran windows update (which failed) and then I got the problem I copied my post from another similar question I found when trying to find an answer. AGAIN I USED NO REG CLEANER ON A BETA OS OR ANY OTHER TOOL I KNOW BETTER THEN THAT IF YOU DID MY SOLUTION WILL PROBABLY NOT HELP IT APPEARS SOME OF THE OTHERS MIGHT
personally I think this has the marking of a bug recently I tried to run the windows update to update windows defender
it failed after reboot when I launched the start menu I had to watch as half my tiles disappeared including desktop control panel store several applications I had installed like visual studio and origin
after digging around I could not find them anywhere
I then when to go look in %programdata%\microsoft\windows
I found that my account no longer had permission over the start menu folder
once I made my self the owner of these directories and rebooted my start menu was full again
I can now search and find store and all the other missing tiles and re pin them to my start screen
if your tiles went missing look there
after doing this I was able to launch immersive control panel and do a refresh keeping files just to ensure all the permission were replaced like they should be

To follow up on what Billy mentioned with some instructions:

Win+E, Drill down to the Start Menu, Right Click on Start Menu and choose Take Ownership:

    Attachment 534

Thank you Billy for the instructions.

Awesome Thanks for going the extra mile and adding pics. You forget sometimes when your in IT all day everyday that not everyone speaks that language. Ill remember next time to not be in such a hurry and format a proper response. I search for hours trying to find answers to this problem so wanted to hurry up and add what I found that worked. Now its to see if I can reproduce the problem to figure out how it occurred in the first place.

I'm a visual sort of person, and self taught at that so I have to see things at times to understand. Many novices out there just flat out would not understand anything less and end up really fudging things up. Then our work would really get interesting. There are times when I start getting tired that I start hurrying and taking shortcuts, and boom, it hits me in the face. So I have to fix things. Fortunately I know how to fix things. Our readers many times do not know how to fix things so easily. I believe in the KISS principle. Anyone who does not know what that is, please do not take offense: Keep It Simple Stupid! (KISS)

To add Take Ownership to the Right Click Context Menu it involves a Registry edit. The easiest way is explained in this article from Into Windows. There are others found in a Google search in other Forums which I don't care to point to.
