I have Windows 8 on my HP 500 Slate and have to say, so far it is much better than Windows 7 professional which it came with. The finger control is vastly improved, and the hand writing recognition is absolutely brilliant! It even recognizes my bad hand writing! Looking forward to the final release. Also it is noticeably faster.

We have read that for touch screens it should exceed expectations. The questions arise with desktops/laptops. Is there enough justification for a change? Still to be seen.

I have received information from a microsoft person that the new RC version to come out is going to be desktop user friendly.
They have made some changes to make it work more like a desktop.
