my windows 8 cp metro apps are creating real trouble for me. None of the metro apps is woking properly.First day i only checked camera it was working.Even the IE10 beta metro app was working fine.Next day i installed some programs :cc cleaner,wise registry cleaner,power iso,ms office and some others.......and saw that only windows store,photos(live photos) ,music and videos app were working......rest apps like maps,pdf reader and camera were not....


To aggravate the issue IE10 app also giving problems....... whenever i right click on any webpage the Ie 10 metro app displays a green rectangular bar...(picture attached)

then the live photos stopped...although when i click on the photos app the photos are there but they arent appearing on the live tile.

Then to my suprise windows store also started showing the green rectangular bar that IE10 app was suffering...but after installing some update it was corrected.I installed an app from store ....the app opened and then after few seconds closed showing back the start screen and this is what is presently happpening with pdf reader,maps,weather and some other apps!!!!!

I tried to use refresh option so that i can revert back but refresh option is saying that some files are missing u need installation media.


The problem is that my cd drive is not working and i dont have usb gretaer than 2 gb.....i had installed windows 8 using virtual drive from the iso file i had mounted in my windows xp.


please help me to repair my windows 8!!!!!!

First, Welcome to the Win 8 Forums.

The Win 8 CP apps are far from complete. In fact the Metro apps seem to be the most incomplete portion of Win 8 CP. Those using the Metro UI are hoping when the RC is released in late spring or early summer some of these issues are fixed. There also seems to be a decided lack of Metro apps.

If you use a traditional keyboard and mouse, as many of us do, you might be more comfortable spending time on the Desktop UI. Spend some time reading through the various threads in the Tutorials and Customizations Forums.

Win 8 CP is probably the furthest along of all Windows OS's at this early beta stage of development, but as you have found, it is still a beta product and still needs modification.

Don't bother with metro style apps... most of them are just some kind of preview of what they should look like.

Agreed, they will get better as time goes on and they are developed further. This is still an early beta.
