    Are you sure that you clicked shut down button or restart button?

    Hey Sia Tung, Welcome to Windows 8 forum. your problem really sounds strange if you did click the "Shut Down" button but not the "Restart Button".

    My suggestion is that you can firstly make your battery disconnected and then put on the battery to click "Shut Down" button again to see what will happen.

    I once had a HTC mobile(EVO 4G), after turn off power, no matter which button I touched, it would automatically turn on. I think this is a kind of hardware problem. But I am not sure about that.

    Suggestion: after you clicked shut down button on your Windows 8, don't touch any other button on your laptop. See if it starts or not.

    Hi Sia Tung, welcome to Windows 8 Forums. Try this method to see if that works.
    To check your own system, go to the desktop and press Windows+X, then select Power Options. Now click on "Choose what the power button does".
    Look under "Shutdown settings". Here you should usually find an option called "Turn on fast start-up (recommended)". If this option is missing, you probably have hibernation disabled.
    To re-enable it, open up a command prompt as Administrator and type powercfg /H on. Now restart the system and come back to the shutdown settings to see if the fast start-up option has appeared. Make sure it is selected and try shutting down the system again. You don't need to enable the Hibernate option in the list. With any luck it will now shut down correctly.

    Other users have sometimes cured shutdown problems by disabling fast start-up if it has already been enabled.

    @siatung check this setting:

    Win8 Restart Loops

    WindowsKey+x
    P for Control Panel
    Recovery
    Configure System Restore
    Advanced
    Startup and Recovery: Settings
    System Failure: Automatically Restart checkbox: UNCHECK THIS

    ALSO check in power options as that is where the setting for behavior of these switches is.
