    Default Installing Windows 7?

    Hi all,

I am really not liking Windows 8. Many bugs, apps are messed up and simple menus (like the Start menu) have disappeared. My favourite programmes have changed and I am at the end of my tether. In their race to be like Mac, Microsoft have created a monstrosity that is daily annoying me.

Is there anyway I can revert to Windows 7? It seems like it could be enormous hassle and a friend told me that Windows 7 might not be compatible with my new Toshiba laptop (Satellite C850).

    Thanks in advance

You can use classic shell...this will give you the start button back and the familiarity of windows 7. Personally I use Start8 from stardock, it's free to try for 30 day's then must purchase to continue using it, only cost $5.

    Welcome to Classic Shell

Get the Start menu back with Start8

This way you don't have to worry about downgrading from 8 to 7.

I don't have to use Win-8, in fact I don't have to use Win-7 either, because XP is still my main OS.

But being a computer service tech, I've had to set up both OS's for my customers upgrading from an old XP PC that is dead or dying.

I use the Classic Shell on both Win-7 and Win-8, to make them look and act a lot like the old familiar XP.
Did I mention, it's 100% FREE. No trials or what not. Download it here:

You also need to install a program called "Grant Admin Full Control" , to get you past that annoying "you don't have permission" thing.
    Get it here:

Once you OWN the OS and make it look familiar, it's not too bad.

Many older programs that you might want to run, have to be "Run as Admin".
You select that, in the shortcut to run the program.

But, we've discussed all that before, in this forum, like for the past couple of years.
    So READ, READ, READ!!!

    Cheers Mate!
