Windows 8 does not provide an option to confirm when we try to delete a file. Do you know how to get file back after Recycle Bin is delete, too? I think I press wrong button and delete an important document yesterday. I cant find it. I have a habit that I will delete the recycle bin everyday. So this file cant be recoveried?

Hi nicoler, welcome to our forum.

Did you backup? If you use Windows backup, you should backup. You can restore files from backup.

1. Open Backup and Restore by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore.

2. Click Restore my files, and then follow the steps in the wizard.

Also, you can go to"Recover lost or deleted files" to try other ways.

Good morning everyone. As we have discussed several times in these forums, since Win 8 CP is a beta OS, you should be using this OS for testing purposes only. That being said, you should not have important files on this OS because it is not complete and could crash unexpectedly at any time. There is no support when this does happen so you are on your own. If you do have important data on this test beta OS you definitely should have that data backed up somewhere. Both of my esteemed colleagues have already given answers on how to attempt to retrieve this data.

Everyone has to remember, during this early testing phase of this beta OS, unexpected, bad things can, and will happen. When these bad things happen, there is NO SUPPORT from MS to attempt to solve the problem. You are on your own. Those of us that are doing our actual work on Win 8 CP have a seperate partition containing all our data so if something really bad happens our data is safe. In addition, the data in that partition is backed up somewhere else.

For the very good reasons just given, I won't even set up an email program on Win-8 because I don't want my email split between two drives and two OS's.

We're just TESTING Win-8, and should not be running it for actual WORK.
I have nothing on Win-8 that can't be blown off in an instant, if need be.

I'll run Win-8 for a few days, trying this and that till I get it screwed up, then reinstall it and start over, keeping notes on what I did last, that screwed it up. I'm getting quite a list, of those things that upset it.
I'm kind of like a Dr. testing a person for allergies.
