Default How do you get the Clock to stay on the Task Bar or at least on Desktop

How do you get the Clock to stay on the Task Bar or at least on Desktop without highlighting the Right Sidebar? Can the Sidebar and Clock/Calendar stay on the desktop? The Clock is now missing from the bottom right Task bar.

I've been using Windows 8 for some time. However, my Clock always shows on the Task Bar everytime I start my computer. And, I tried to find the answer that you need but there is no related answer online. Anyhow, I hope your problem can be solved as soon as possible.

What edition you are using? PRO or beta version? I have never had such kind of issue. Its better to show us the screenshot.

I am using Windows 8 Pro. HyperSnap does not work here.

You can find the answer by using the Search charm & type in Taskbar and then click on "Show or hide clock on Taskbar"

Apparently your clock got set to "off" so change it to "on"?

If that doesn't work, I have no other ideas.

.....the same thing happened to me (and I do not recall switching the date and time off !!.)

I went to - Control panel / All control panel items / Notification Area icons / System Icons - and then simply switched it on there.

I know your problem was solved, Sugared, but, I guess as you mentioned the Taskbar, you were referring to the legacy desktop, although you mentioned the large clock which appears from the sidebar (Charms) They are, of course, two separate applications. At the moment, there is no way to show the Metro clock as a permanent feature, should you be using the Metro screen.
The Taskbar clock, however, is unchanged from earlier OSs. You can control its appearance on the taskbar by either opening the Control Panel and "Notification Icons", or by clicking the very small whit "up " arrow on the right of the taskbar, and selecting "Customise" If. like many, you are not familiar with, or do not wish to use the metro screen, there is no real need to perform any action there, or in the sidebar.

That's the first time on any version of Windows that I've heard of the clock not being on the desktop, in the nearly 20 years that I've used Windows (since 1993).

However, I'm glad that a solution was found fast. Will bookmark this thread for future reference.

There are some windows store and other clock ap downloads. So far I have not run across one that runs on the metro side in a small display...only pinned ap sized things.
