Can anyone help me in how to change the default font in windows 8? many thanks in advance.

Windows 8 is running on my Asus laptop and I have adjusted some fonts in the Adavanced Apperance settings, and also the Registry for Gabriola font. But still I have some text on teh Desktop that is the default text. I would like to change it all to the same Gabriola text if possible.

any helps?

Open Registry Editor and expand the location

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ FontSubstitutes in the left pane;

Double click the key values “MS Shell Dlg" and "MS Shell Dlg 2” one by one and type the name of the desired font in each of them and click OK button

To know the name and styles of the fonts installed on your PC open Control Panel (All Items View) and click the link Fonts
Now you can choose from the variety of fonts that you want to display.
Restart your PC for the changes to take effect.

it isn't the default font
