Question IT gods & ghosts @ work?

Whilst beta testing Windows 10... how do things that were broken or non-functional, suddenly start doing what they are supposed to W/OUT a new Build or any new Updates?? IT is very cool but, equally mystifying. I have a website I go to daily, once per day to do a crossword puzzle. It has been loading & works fine BUT, it HAS been taking several minutes to load. Today I open it & it fully loads basically instantly. #2... When attempting to open sites from the Favorites Bar, Open in a New Window was NOT working. Open in New Tab was fine. Now, all of a sudden tonight does BOTH w/ no problem or hesitation, @ all! The above is like there never had been an issue. What gives? The IT gods & ghosts @ work or something?

This is not an isolated incident, either. Have had other issues, seemingly, suddenly repaired or behaving properly for no obvious, explicable reason..

Used to have to resize the Taskbar after a reboot. Suddenly, not anymore... ghosts @ work, again.

    Cheers,
    Drew

My Crystal Ball is in the shop for repair!

But Windows 10 TP/32 on my little HP Laptop is working perfectly!

Just this morning I re-activated Windows Mail on my little laptop,
and set it up for my main email address. Then I sent an email to a friend.
    "different strokes for different folks"???

Every program that I've wanted and needed and ran on my XP desktop, runs
just as well on Windows 10. Even a 25 yr old, 16 bit, game.
Unless MS screws it up before final release, it looks to this old Tech that Windows 10
    will be a 'Keeper'.

But then, I don't have a lot of problems with OS's in general. I tweak and tune every OS
to the PC I'm installing it on and thus I get the ultimate performance possible.

PS: I never screw around with VM or dual boot.
Every OS gets a CLEAN install on a blank HD.
And when I'm running one OS, the other OS's on my system are disabled so one OS can't muck around with another OS.

Windows 8.1, for conversation sake, is one HECK of an OS! In spite of Windows 10 or any new OS from MS, 8.1 will be around for a very long time, much like XP.

I had 8.1/64 bit all set up on a spare HD, connected to my 10 yr old Desktop PC, using an MSI motherboard and an AMD 2X, 64 bit, 5200+ CPU chip. It ran great!

I had the hard drive sitting here and one day I wanted it use it on another old PC with an AMD Athlon/64 cpu in it.
I was prepared to reinstall 8.1 on that PC, but when I put the HD on that PC and booted it up, it booted just fine and then the OS told me it was installing drivers for new hardware. WTF???

In just a few short minutes 8.1 had installed all the drivers for the new PC and was running like a champ, leaving me sitting there scratching my head in amazement.
I never saw Windows XP or even Windows 7 do that.
So the old wives tale, that you can't transplant an OS from one PC to another PC just went out the window.
    Or, is that "Windows" ?

Yesterday, I went to visit a friend who had downloaded Windows 10, installed it, hated it, and UN-Installed it.
I took my own little HP laptop with me, with Windows 10, 32bit, + Classic Shell on it and showed my friend how nice it looked and how well it ran all my software, even my 25 yr old, 16 bit, Mahjong game. He was, to quote a phrase, "Blown Away".

As soon as I get the next W-10 release, I'll take a copy over to my friends house, install it for him and show him just how nice it can actually be, when set up to be the most User Friendly. That is, 'User Friendly' from the standpoint of an old XP user.

Cheers mates! [if it's Sunday, it's "Meet The Press" ]

This came as a surprise. Somehow always thought you keen on XP & not really giving a fig for 8.1 Silly me didn't think would hear you lauding Windows 10. But, hey, it deserves the praise.

I, still, use an Applications window, even w/ 10. But, just for Ss & Gs try a bit of time w/out CS on 10.

And that said, it's ironic how (very) rarely actually open the Start menu. But, between it, pinning, an Applications window, Users menu, File Explorer/Applications window's Jumpllist, This PC opening w/ the Nav Tree & Search box...rarely, actually, hit Start menu.

Yes, indeed, from a serious XP user, (wink) lol

I will 2nd that emotion, as the song goes, and, also, have a positive, supportive, attitude towards Windows 10; definitely keen on it. Simply put... Recommend Windows 10.

This from someone who used 8.1 from day 1 of its beta (8.0) and who has used Windows 10 99.9% of the time for about the last 5 months.

    Cheers,
