Last evening, my friend asked me to look up the physical address of my computer. First of all, I have no idea about what the physical address is. And then I really do not know how I can find it. Then what’s the function of it? Especially in Windows 8 beta which my computer is running with. As a computer newbie, I know nothing of all the questions.

Pls give me some suggestions!

Type cmd in the Start Menu and then type into ipconfig /all. You can find the relevant IP address among all the information, including your MAC (Physical Address). This command is useful in all windows operating system, win 8 is no exception.

Do you mean the MAC address? If really like that, plz follow my suggestions:

# Click the Start icon
# Click Control Panel
# Select Network and Internet
# Click Network and Sharing Center
# Select Change Adapter Settings from the list on the left hand side
# Right click on the connection you are trying to find the MAC address for and select Properties
You will have a separate icon for your wireless card; your Ethernet (LAN) card and your Virtual WiFi MiniPort adapter (if you have one), each with their own MAC address. Make sure you select the correct one.
