All application install takes a long time and shutdown hangs in win 8 - Windows 8

Hello,
I have installed windows 8 on my new Toshiba laptop and it running any setup takes at least 10 minutes longer than other laptop running Win 7, XP. If I run the setup.exe's as administrator they install normally, but the same trick doesn't work for CD installs. After anything is installed the system hangs on the next shutdown.

pls tell me is there any software can improve this of my laptop? many thanks in advance.
