This is bad advice & a bad practice. The password should never be removed. The OS can be set such that it will allow log-on w/out asking for the password but, that is the only approach that is needed or acceptable.

As for booting to Desktop, that is very 'old news' but, anyway, here's the solution:

Rt Clk on Taskbar > Properties > Navigation (tab). Under Start screen check the 1st item box, "Go to Desktop when I sign-in (to the OS).
