    Default Windows 8.1 Help Please

Hi everyone, 2 months ago I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad U410 14-inch Red Ultrabook - Intel Core i5 3317U 1.7GHz 4GB RAM 1TB HDD 24GB SSD, Windows 8, Webcam, Bluetooth NOT Touchscreen. It was from an online Lenovo dealer and sold as a new demo machine.
I put it away as an xmas present, and got it out last week because I read that I could update to Windows 8.1
I ignored the message saying Rapidboot was not enabled, and proceeded with the 69 Windows updates and the 8.1 update from the Store.
So I now have an up to date Windows 8.1 machine with all latest updates installed, but still get bootup message saying Repidboot not enabled. I went to BIOS and it says iRST Enabled. I also get problems with Sleep mode, from both the Start button and on closing the lid. Also problem with settings like Password Policy, I change it to Not Required on waking from sleep, but it still asks for password.
My first thoughts were to download the latest BIOS but I am not too clever with in-depth computer stuff so decided to check here first for the correct procedure. All help greatly appreciated
    David

Firstly, lets make sure that all your drivers are update from here.....and it looks like all of them are from Oct. 2013. You may need to update them all.

    Default Windows 8.1 Help Please

Hi again, so I am now trying to check that my drivers are all correct and up to date.
I click on the Lenovo support link as advised (image 1) and then click on each relevant download button. Once downloaded, I click and run the exe file and mostly get a Sucess message (image 2)
To double check I have gone to driverquery from the command prompt which has produced a list of my drivers (image 3)
I also used driverview.exe as a further check (image 4)
Why is it that despite showing successful results, the lists do not reflect the same driver names, versions and created dates etc. For example the images show the Conexant Audio Driver, audio137w81.exe Version: 8.65.3.53 dated 18:10:2013 which differs from the results in images 3 & 4
I am obviously doing something very wrong, is there some special method of updating drivers? or a setting that is preventing my updates, or am I not understanding the process and being a Muppet?

Hi, what is this??? This thread is over 6 months old, why are you contacting me????
How dare you accuse me of posting to an old thread again, I never did. The last reply was by someone else back in February 2014.
It's looking like you are the scammer, perhaps someone from the site will read this and get you BANNED.
PACK IT IN and stop sending stupid messages.

    David,

Let WU grab whatever is needed. Beyond that > Device Manager, Rt Clk items > Update driver; either you'll be told you have the latest or it will run off & fetch whatever is needed (if anything).

Treat the driver update thing as one of those, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", things.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    As for the P/W issue:

    > Screen saver, uncheck "On resume, display logon screen" and you need to tell the machine to not require your P/W to be entered. I will tell you via a PM how but, I will not display those instructions publicly.

    Cheers,
    Drew
