Windows 8 crashes when playing Deus EX and Dirt Showdown
Hi all,
Both the first Deus EX and Dirt Showdown start and appear to work normally when in use, but about 5 to 10 mins in to game play they both freeze. When I press ctrl alt del my screen changes to that in between screen and when I click Task Manager to close the program I hear a beep and my computer is totally frozen and I have to reboot.
Is there any thing I can try to make these games work and/or make Windows 8 not crash?
Thank you.

Re: Windows 8 crashes when playing Deus EX and Dirt Showdown
Hi,
It looks like the AMD Radeon XFX 7590 is not compatible with Windows 8. I would suggest you to un-install graphics card drivers, then download and install the latest driver from the manufacturer’s website in “Compatibility mode” and then check if this fixes the issue.
Follow these steps:
Step 1:
Uninstall the graphics card driver from the “Device Manager”.
a. Drag the mouse to bottom left corner and right-click on the “Start icon”.
b. Select “device manager”.
c. Expand “Display adapters” option.
d. Right-click on the “Exact Graphics card” and click on “Un-install”.
e. Restart the computer once the driver is un-installed.
Follow these steps to install the driver in compatibility mode:
a. Download the latest audio driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.
b. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.
c. Select “Compatibility” Tab.
d. Make a check mark next to Run this program in “Compatibility mode” and select previous version of Windows supported by the driver from the drop down list.
e. Let the driver to install and then check the functionality.
