Does spider solitaire not run on Windows 8?

I upgraded a windows 7 to windows 8 CP. but a problem comes when I play Spider Solitaire. It cant run. Files and apps and cannot get Spider Solitaire to run - I've tried copying it out of the Windows.old folder but clicking on the icon, still doesn't do anything - not even produce an error.

Anyone help?

Many of the games have not been added to Win 8 CP yet. Read down through some of the other threads in this forum to find how some others have been able to add some of the old games back in.

some people where acquiring about windows card games. So here is a fix for that. I use it on my win 8 and it works fine. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully and you will be ok.

Just apply Microsoft Games Patcher 1.2

How to

1. Please use x86 games for WCP x86 & x64 games for WCP x64. Otherwise the patch willn't work.
2. Copy 'Program Files\Microsoft Games' folder from the x86/x64 install.wim or a working x86/x64 installation.
3. Paste it in 'Program Files'.
4. Copy 'cardgames.dll' from system32 of a x86/x64 install.wim or a working x86/x64 installation.
5. Paste it in 'FreeCell', 'Hearts', 'Solitaire' & 'SpiderSolitaire' folder.
6. Apply the patch.
7. Done.

This worked. I have been trying to find a way of doing this since I started with Win 8 DP, and then Win 8 CP. Thanks dnationsr.
