Hello, I've recently been having issues with Dreamweaver, an Adobe product, and even Windows Explorer crashing. I've looked around on the forums and found that people have been having this problem, so it's not just me. Essentially, when I try to go under the Detail tab, which I guess is the new processes tab, to end a task it says Access is Denied.

Other people have had no real success combating this problem.


Does anyone have a solution?

I'm having issues with 'Windows Modules Installer'.

When my laptop is at rest for just under 5 minutes, WMI kicks in and really overworks my system causing it to overheat. It will keep working away, eventually causing the system to get very hot until I start using Laptop again ... only then will WMI disappear. This issue started immediately after installing my last batch of Windows Updates. I'm not sure if this is related.

Can someone suggest a fix for this issue?

whenever we try to move the laptop touchpad cursor in any document or viewer window or software window, or say drag and drop pics into a directory, the WIN8 icon screen always flips up and we gotta do a alt/tab to get back to the document or viewer.

since we don't use touchscreen tablets it really is a time waster - money loser, and our company is considering massive switch to another system type altogether devoid of MS systems. there's gotta be a simple fix.

Oh, had to alt/tab 4 times just typing/editing this query to get back to it.

anyone got a fix?

Hey just joined up today to see if anyone has had this issue, ran a Google search on the issue and didn't see any result.

Whenever my PC runs the automatic maintenance while idle it seems to get stuck and freeze. A movie or music will keep playing, but nothing responds to my clicks. Ctrl+Alt+Delete doesn't work, and if I move my mouse to the taskbar I just get the spinning blue circle. Pressing the Windows key does nothing, moving my mouse to the top right brings up that menu but nothing I click on works. I have to hold the power button to shut it down. For now I have disabled the idle maint in Task Scheduler. So any ideas on how to fix this? And also what exactly does the maintenance do? Thanks.

Many of you may know Windows 8.1 is on the horizon. I received an E-mail for Microsoft today geared towards IT Pros. It lists & discusses many features, tweaks & enhancements included in 8.1

Most of the article relates to business & info for us IT Pros working with & for business clients. However, there is, also, certainly some overlap to 'home users'. And some cater to, respond to the rhetoric & fussing about Windows 8 that we have read & heard over the past 18 months. I have only extracted & placed here the items that more relate to home users than corporate environments, although they are, of course, important to both.
