    Default Radeon 9250 #1

Good Morning all, just a small problem that I have encountered with win8

my ATI Radeon 9250 is not recognized in Win 8, computer puts out data (same on both screens) and "extend my desktop" is not an option, I have downloaded the win7/vista catalyst control center with drivers, and when the control center boots up all it gives is the engine control center, nothing about the display, and after a reboot still does not even recognize the 9250 can anyone help?

Also, I have done ALL of the recommended Windows Updates, and there has been nothing to do with display drivers.

    heres what I got:

    AMD Athlon 64 processor 3500+ 2.20GHz
    4.00 GB (3.5 usable) memory
    32 bit OS

9250 works very well in win XP so I know the card is ok, however, buying a new card IS OUT OF THE QUESTION, but would like to continue playing with Windows 8

did the card work in windows 7?
i was able to update my drivers for a different ati card by going to Windows\System32\DriverStore file in windows 7 and letting windows search for the correct driver. the ati catalyst install didn't work for me. it may work with the drivers from the same file in vista. i think that is where i got the drivers for windows 7.

I have been using it on an XP machine, not win7, however I have attempted to install the win7/Vista drivers for it with no luck, I have been told that it wont work......I was hoping that we could find a "fix" for it, because buy a nex video card is not an option for me right now.

installing it from the ati package didn't work for me either.
i was using it with windows vista first then with windows 7.
the ati driver package worked with vista but not with win7.
i up dated the drivers from the device manager in 7 and 8 by going to the Windows\System32\DriverStore file first in vista and searching for the best driver.
the update picked the correct one.
i also didn't use the listing under display adapters, it kept picking the generic windows driver.
there was another video adapter flagged under other devices with out a driver that did the trick.
