mmm doesn't work for me, cuz it says I have already all the drivers installed and updated, and isn't right. I my audio don't work.

Maybe your device is not compatible with Windows 8 Consumer Preview. Just keep an eye on the official site of your audio device, and see if the driver is updated there.

Hey Shaan, make sure you've upgraded to the latest driver for Windows 8.

Device Doctor stinks. It loads junk software and does not ident the drivers I need.

I find that Driver apps like that tend to disappoint.
I had bought Driver Detective once and it said my drivers were outdated and downloaded the new ones.
When they were being installed I kept getting notices that my drivers were newer than what it downloaded.
I've had the same results with other so called driver update apps.

Actually, Device Doctor has saved my backside on a couple of XP installs, notably XP Pro x64 on my desktop. The app found all of my devices & updated them for me at no charge.

There will always be those who has good & bad experiences with these type apps, free or paid. Plus, there's still not a full driver base for Windows 8 RP yet, although it's much better than with CP. That's something that no app can can do, is provide drivers for a OS that's not Retail yet.

At least, with Device Doctor, you're not out of cash for using it.

As with any S/W, both free and paid for, you must be careful when installing to ensure no other apps are piggybacked onto the install screen. There should always be the option to opt out of the extra S/W.

Whenever I use these type of utilities, I only select what I need, & that's it. I never fix what isn't broken.

Device Doctor offered me an update for most every component on my Win 8 RP install, the only one that I attempted, to no avail, was the built in wi-fi driver. Like the driver that Windows Update offered me, it caused a BSOD. Slim Drivers reported that all was up to date.

These services are good when needed, but use them with caution. Free or Paid doesn't matter in regards to this.
