    Default Can't install printer

My current problem is that I don't have any printers installed. I removed the one that I had when I bought a new one - and W8 won't let me install that one. The new one is HP OfficeJet Pro 6800. I can see "installed printers" - but when I try to print, I get "printer not connected". I reboot, another problem coms. After the reboot - It did go to the Printers. It shows "Error Printing" .

Can anyone help me in this matter? Thank you!

Unfortunately device drivers are not keeping up with Win 8 CP yet. Once Win 8 gets closer to release this fall we can hope they catch up. It seems HP is the slowest to respond. Have you tried the Win 7 drivers. My Canon works well with the Win 7 drivers in Win 8 CP.

DO, make sure that the printer has both INK and paper.

If you got driver software with the printer, it won't be for windows 8, so don't even try to install it.
Let Win-8 install the drivers from its own driver cache.

(don't buy any more HP printers, their drivers and software really suck)

I use only Epson printers and Windows 8 installs them without a whimper.

    Good Luck,

There is evidently a HP OfficeJet Pro 6800, but from the looks of HP's description page, it's certainly an older model. A 2004 one, prior to XP SP2's release.

If that's the model, forget it, it's not going to work. Unless when Windows 8 becomes retail & a similar app to XP Mode is offered.

The OfficeJet Pro 8600 should work in soon time, as it's a recently built printer.
