I went to the device manager , clicked the audio device that had a "!" next to it , right click > properties>driver tab>update driver>Browse my computer for a driver> point it to the driver package from the xonar dg drivers(use the vista or win 7 driver) and say yes when it asks if you want to install the driver -be sure when pointing it to the driver that you choose the 64 bit folder if using win 8 64 bit . the driver works fine but it will not install the software that comes with it.at least you will have sound.
Download the latest driver from Xonar to a folder on your PC, then follow the advice Dave mentions above.
Did anyone bother to look at the date of the OP's post?
If he's not fixed it by now, he's probably NOT going to.
Please do not respond to posts that go back beyond the version of Win-8 that we're currently testing.
Someone, please close this thread. It's out of date!
