I have the solution for the epson 2450.... You can use the drivers for Epson scanner 2400 for Win 7 32 or 64 bit ( it's the same...) . You can update the driver manualy for the 2450 and choose the fisth .inf for epson 2400. It run 100%.....

If you are looking for a driver for epson2450 of windows 8, you must use the driver for epson 2400 that you find on the website of Epson.
The driver is epson12180.exe is the same for both 64 and 32 bit. Extract this file to a folder. In the control panel you can do the update manually drive epson 2450 looking for the driver in the folder you extracted earlier.Use Es3e.inf and then choose Epson 2400. The scanner will be recognized. Then use also setup .exe for the management software of the scanner. Let me know ....

You may want to check out VueScan. I began using this driver for the Epson 2450 when I moved from Windows XP to Windows 7. I have been pleased with it. It is by Hamrick Software.

Thanks, Franchito. Your advice worked perfectly. The only thing missing from your instructions (which I filled in with my experience) was going to the Devices and Printers applet and doing something in there with the then-disabled scanner device at the bottom. Now that I've completed the steps, I can't recreate them any more, but there was some option in there that allowed one to manually select an INF file, and that worked like a charm. Thanks so much!
